JD RUMORS
So, did JD find a home for his So So Def? That’s the word. I heard he found a nice pad over at EMI, which is the parent company of Virgin. Isn’t that sort of weird, if its true? Other sources have suggested that JD might be headed over the Def Jam, but many feel this is unlikely. JD is not likely to work under Jay-Z. Money might not be a thing, but egos are very much a thing. “We have not had any discussions with Jermaine about coming to Island Def Jam, but we think he’s extremely talented and we would love to have him here,” said a rep for LA Reid to The New York Daily News.

TEAIRRA MARI SAYS ADIOS TO THE ROC!
Well, I don’t blame her! Teairra Mari was cute and all that. She wasn’t much different that Ashanti in her early days. So, it comes as no surprise that the young singer has left Def Jam Records. Clearly, she wasn’t pleased, but no specific reason has been given. There is no reported beef, but she is apparently looking for a new recording home for her music. Word to Rhianna, the new princess of The Roc.

NEW YORK STILL DOING IT UP!
I know many of you caught that foolishness that aired last night. I didn’t watch the whole thing, but I did catch the New York segment, which was basically the best part of the show. Lala had to get real with Buckwild’s crazy ass for throwing that Payless shoe across the stage. I wonder what would have went down if Lala got hit up side the head with that runned down heel.
But whatever, another Flavor of Love is over and done with. Now we have to wait on “I Love New York” which will be sure to bring some more foolishness to a T.V. near you.

City of Philadelphia Moving Towards Ban On Blunts
Council members in Philadelphia are close to outlawing the smoking of blunts in the city. Last Thursday (Oct. 26), the council’s Committee on Licenses and Inspections unanimously approved a bill that would make the sale of “loosies” and other drug paraphernalia, including cigarette wrapping papers, illegal. The Philadelphia Metro reports that sales of cigars in packages of fewer than six would also be banned, except those sold in specialty tobacco shops. Available at most inner-city convenience stores and Chinese take out restaurants, “loosies” are loose cigars that are frequently emptied out and filled with marijuana. “I think it sends the wrong message when you can get a blunt or rolling papers with your Now and Laters or Lemonheads or pretzel sticks,” said Stephen Clay, a medical directorat the Gaudenzia drug treatment facility. Local activists believe the accessibility of blunts in stores and on the streets helps create a feeling of “lawlessness.” They further point out that the items are at times laced with cocaine or PCP for a greater high. If the bill is passed, at least one major retailer has vowed to stop selling small packages of blunt cigars, according to the Metro, which added that the entire council is expected to approve the measure next month.
