RAP-A-LOT CEO JAMES PRINCE LAUNCHES LAWSUIT AGAINST APPLE, VIACOM AND BET!
Rap-A-Lot CEO James Prince (AKA J. Prince) and Thomas Randle have launched a lawsuit against Apple, Viacom and BET over the use of their images in the promotion and advertising of BET's "American Gangster" series.

According to MacNN.com, James Prince and Thomas Randle, who filed the 13-page lawsuit October 10 in Texas, claim that BET's show "American Gangster" incorrectly labeled them as killers and used their images without permission.

The lawsuit claims that the plaintiffs’ photos were shown alongside Chicago gang leader Larry Hoover. And while they were never mentioned by name, Prince and Randle feel this is implies they are criminals according to the lawsuit.

"During the advertisement program, a photograph of Mr. Prince and Mr. Randle is shown with Mr. Larry Hoover, without their permission, with the narrator stating that they were 'MURDERERS,'" the suit alleges. "Neither Mr. Prince nor Mr. Randle has ever been convicted of felony offences, let alone murder. Such patently false, inflammatory and defamatory publications have maternally [sic] and substantially harmed the reputation of my clients."

It is alleged that Apple, Viacom and BET have refused to remove or modify the episode which is still available for purchase on iTunes.
