VIOLATOR CEO SEEKS NEW TALENT!



Working alongside Bret 'Du Love' , Violator CEO, Chris Lighty is on the prowl in search of the next "money making artist".


According to Lighty, the Who Got Skillz competition was started in order to find, "The next artist who can take over Violator worldwide and really take it to the next level."


"I've had a lot of success managing some great artists, but they all had to be discovered at some point, so I'm creating a platform to find the next new artist that will take it to the next level and take over Violator worldwide," Chris Lighty told AllHipHop.com.


Lighty has had an extensive career working with and managing various artists including 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott. Over the past six years,


Violator Management/Records has gone on to sell approximately 10 million records each year.


In June of 2007, Lighty formed Brand Asset Group, a new joint venture with Warner Music Group, which helps manages and develop brand extensions associated with various artists from all genres of music.

RAPPER C-MURDER HOST BOOK CLUB DISCUSSIONS!



Rapper Corey "C-Murder" Miller is continuing to connect with fans through his literary endeavors by taking part in a new venture with Conversations Book Club.


The event, which is called the Tru Conversations Hour, will give fans a chance to discuss Miller’s best-selling novel Death Around the Corner.


Readers will be able to converse with the rapper live, by calling a special phone number and putting in an access code .


The chats will be moderated by Conversations Book Club president Cyrus A. Webb and feature discussions stemming from excerpts from Death Around the Corner, that will be read by Webb.


Organizers encourage all questions during the chat to be centered around the fictional book, which focuses on the life of a man trying to survive on the streets in pre-Katrina New Orleans.


In addition to be being a best seller, Death Around the Corner was chosen as Conversations Book Club's "Book of the Year 2007."


The Tru Conversations Hour isn’t the first time Tru Publishing president Miller and Webb have joined forces.


The pair began working together last year, when Webb helped C-Murder organize a tour of Louisiana and Mississippi to promote Death Around the Corner.
