Rapper Lil' Wayne will always be grateful to MARY J. BLIGE after the singer contacted him in one of his darkest moments. The 25-year-old - real name Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. - had just been arrested for drug possession in Yuma, Arizona, when the R+B star called to thank him for completing a remix of her song Just Fine. And Carter insists the call helped him through He says, "When I went to jail and I'm going through all that, you know who called me? That woman (Blige)! Everybody who had (collaboration) deals with me started pulling out on me, so I thought she was another person calling like, 'We had another idea, we're not gonna go with you on the song.' "She called to tell me 'thank you again for the songs' and to make sure I was OK. 'I just wanna make sure you all right. Don't let that get to you. You killed the song, by the way. Thank you again.' I'll never forget her for that." Since his arrest last month (22Jan08), the hip-hop star has been released by Arizona officials after posting bail.
According to DrewReports sources at Columbia Records, Kelly Rowland will re-release Ms. Kelly as a digital album this March 25th. It will be called Diva Deluxe. Five of the songs are new and two are remixes from Ms. Kelly She’s currently on the road promoting it.
Columbia needs to seriously give up on this project because it did not work the first time and it is not going to work the second time! Some people are not meant to be solo artist. Use Nicole Scherzinger situation for a good example!
