GET READY! FOXY CRAZY ASS WILL BE LET LOOSE IN 24 HOURS
Foxy Brown will be getting out of Rikers prison tomorrow and she plans to make the most out of it. The rapper's people are planning a media event for the release with a full press conference, photo ops, fan gatherings and more. The Department of Corrections isn't very happy about the plans. They say the parking lot where Foxy Brown will be getting out is way to small for all the plans her people have and will try to stop the event from happening.
Normally, just-freed inmates take the city bus from Rikers prison to Queens, NY and then Manhattan. Their friends and families meet them there, instead of at the prison. We will see what actually happens.
LUDACRIS HOLDS FUNDRAISER FOR AIDS RESEARCH
Ludacris, the ever ready businessman, is about to open his new restaurant, Straits Atlanta. The grand opening event will feature a $100 a plate private dinner which will raise money for HIV and AIDS research. "Although I’ve been busy recording my new album Theatre of the Mind and finishing up my latest film, I’m happy to take one day out of my busy schedule to handle my other responsibilities," Ludacris said. "I want to touch the people before I get back on the music grind, and this is a way for me to do just that.”
After the grand opening, a second fundraiser will take place at Atlanta's Lenox Square Mall where Ludacris, his manager Chaka Zulu and R&B Singer Ciara, will be having an exclusive shopping event at the Ralph Lauren store. All proceeds will goto Luda's Ludacris Foundation. “The community and making a difference will always be a part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way,” Ludacris said. The 2008 fundraiser marks the second year for the event, which raised more than $200,000 last year for the Foundation.
CAPONE N NOREAGA GETS ONE LAST CHANCE!
| The rap duo, Capone-N-Noreaga, are about to make a comeback on the rap scene. They recently signed a new deal with SMC Recordings, a San Francisco-based label. The new deal will bring Capone-N-Noreaga's follow up to their The Reunion album. SMC co-founder Ralph Tashjian, the rap duo along with the rest of SMC's artist roster which includes Killer Mike and Pastor Troy, will all benefit from the freedom that comes with an indi label. “We have the best of both worlds–the flexibility and connection to the streets of an independent label and the ability to reach the masses that major label distribution affords,” Tashjian said. SMC Recordings is distributed by Fontana/Universal and handles the distribution for Tashjian's Atlanta-based label called Grind Time Official. There is currently no release date or title for the new album from Capone-N-Norega, but it will mark their first official release in eight years. |
