Jay-Z’s controversial headlining performance at last summer’s Glastonbury Festival in England has landed the muti-platinum rapper and entrepreneur yet another award. The Festival had come under fire for the decision to make a Hip-Hop act the event’s main attraction, with one of the most vocal detractors being Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher. Jay-Z responded by opening his performance with his own guitar-accompanied rendition of the group’s 1995 hit “Wonderwall,” creating an instant viral hit. The performance was named the Most Memorable Moment of this year’s festival season during the U.K. Festival Awards, held Thursday night (Oct 30) at London nightclub IndigO2. The Glastonbury Festival, held in Somerset in August, also won the Best Major Festival award and an Outstanding Contribution nod for creator Michael Eavis.

For his new video 50 Cent used some inspiration from the Will Smith movie, I Am Legend. “we came up with a concept for it, just a little more futuristic. I took a scene that I seen in a Will Smith film, ‘I Am Legend.’ 50 told MTV “..It’s a collage that I thought was interesting” [watch here]. 50 continued “In the beginning of ‘I Am Legend,’ New York City was desolate, like everything was just gone. Instead, that’ll be Los Angeles. … There was a scene, one of the creatures was running into the glass, and I kinda re-created that in my own way” 50 says “Get Up” is like 2 Pac’s “California Love” saying “It’s the same key and being played in the same key. … It’s the first thing that came to my head when I heard the beat. That’s what I feel like great music does.” 50 Continued “because I felt that way I started off, ‘I came to bring you that California love and New York hate, all of the above.’ ” . After all, “Get Up” [listen here] is produced by Dr. Dre’s former right-hand-man, Scott Storch. 50’s “Before I Self Destruct” features a track with Eminem called “Norman Bates Motel.” 50 says “I went to Detroit and we had an opportunity to work together…Three songs we recorded together…One I really liked it and he really liked it, so he kept it for his album”50 continued saying “I went back and we made two more songs and we got “Norman Bates Hotel” out of that, it’s exciting.”

T.I. remains ‘King’ of the charts for the seventh week with some competition from Beyonce and Rihanna. Holding tight at No. 1 is T.I.’s hit single “Whatever You Like” which reached No. 1 earlier this month. Just one spot below the Hot 100 hit, T.I.’s new single featuring Rihanna entitled “Live Your Life” slides in at No. 2 this week, besting Beyonce’s new single “If I Were A Boy.” “If I Were A Boy,” the first single from Beyonce’s third studio album “I Am… Sasha Fierce,” lands at No. 3 this week on the strength of 190,000 downloads according to Nielsen Soundscan. Elsewhere on the charts, Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” is down 5-4 while Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent” holds at No. 8. “Miss Independent,” the second single from Ne-Yo’s album “Year of the Gentleman,” also earned the R&B star his first Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs No. 1 this week.

Cash Money Record’s CEO Bryan Williams, otherwise known as Baby, recently announced that he plans to release a film starring himself and Lil Wayne called “Like Father, Like Son.” Baby told Ed Lover and Free, backstage at the Powerhouse concert, “Me and Wayne just finished this movie, Like Father, Like Son, that’s coming out in June and the album coming out at the same time,” continuing, “That’s what we do. Just me being myself. I just wanted to, it’s something we wanted to fund. It’s ours.” Baby didn’t give many details on the film but did hint that it’s based in their hometown saying “So, it’s really what it is, like father, like son,” Baby added. “Normal day growing up in New Orleans, you know. Lil Wayne has begged Eminem for a feature yet fellow Detroit rapper Trick Trick not only has Eminem on a track “Who Want It” , but Em is also producing some of his (Trick) new album. Rumors circled Trick has provided protection for Em in the past to which Trick says “That’s some bullshit, if you fuck with him I’ll bust your head but it’s not like I’m just protecting him. That’s my friend. I ride for all my friends.” Trick recently made news when Yung Berg had his “Autobot” chain stollen at Plan B nightclub in Detroit. Pictures surfaced of Tricks friends, his brother and even his daughter rocking the chain floated all over the internet after Trick repeatedly denied involvement in the fight. He did confirm that the pictures were real, however. “My daughter was properly grounded for that,” Trick revealed. “I had put the chain up in my house and I didn’t put it so far up. Then my daughter decide she want to take pictures with it before she go to school.” Trick’s new album “The Villain” featuring appearances from Eminem, Ice Cube, Royce Da 5′9 plus production from Dr. Dre and Eminem, hits stores on November 11th
