That’s Right, Eminem is “The Greatest Rapper Alive,” although Lil Wayne has been saying he is for years now. According to Vibe Magazine’s fans and a multi-week online poll, Eminem was crowned the world’s top MC in a NCAA tournament style contest. 64 of todays top rappers, from Kanye West and Rick Ross, to Nas and T.I. were given brackets. Fans began voting on head-to-head matchups in July and gradually rappers were eliminated until it was Eminem against Jay-Z. Slim Shady beat out Jigga with 69 percent of the final votes, that equaled over 920,000. “It’s obviously an honor to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive,” Eminem said in a statement released Tuesday (October 7). “I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best, though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah, I’ll accept!” Vibe will be rolling out Eminem’s win in their November 2008 issue, with Presidential canidate Barack Obama on the cover. Eminem is currently putting the final touches on his new album, although it has no official title or release date as of yet. New albums from Shady’s own 50 Cent and Em’s mentor Dr Dre are also expected in this 4th quarter.

i think eminem is the best rapper as far as skill with words and he is my favorite rapper hands down. its nobody i rather listen to more then em. but jay z is the best rapper alive his content and the moves that he makes in hip hop from just being a rapper to being the president of def jam to having beyonce as a wife and this dude was just some ugly dude with messed up teeth selling crack. from the projects u have to crown him. but if the fans say em then its em.
