Lil Wayne will take home the crown for the top selling album of 2008. Weezy’s “Tha Carter III” racked up 2.88 million copies sold, more than 700,000 above 2nd place’s “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. Taylor Swift, Kid Rock and AC/DC round out the top five. It isn’t all good news, 2008 will mark the first year the top selling album sold less than three million copies. In 08 only 428.4 million albums were sold, down over 14% from 2005’s 500.5 million. This past year also saw a record number of vinyl albums sold with almost 2 million, more than any other year. Digital Sales are also up, 2008 saw over 1 billion tracks sold, up more than 26.7% from the previous year.

After over two years without selling, 50 Cent has slashed the price of his Connecticut mansion, dropping the price by $4 million dollars. The house he showed off on an 30-minute special MTV Cribs, once owned by Mike Tyson, is reportedly switched from a $18.5 million dollar price tag, to a mesely $14.5. “It’s the market,” Deborah Orr, of Keller Williams Realty, says. “With a unique property, everyone acknowledges it’s difficult to pinpoint the perfect market price. We feel we need to stimulate some activity, and that was the intent of the price cut.” Don’t get it twisted, the 17-acre property is still the most expensive in the area and includes a helipad, a 40-person hot tub, two billiard rooms, a movie theatre and a club.

Lil Kim isn’t too happy about the upcoming Notorious B.I.G. movie. Kim doesn’t approve of the way the film portrays her relationship with Biggie Smalls. Diddy and Big’s wife, Faith Evans, are both involved in the project, but Lil Kim chose to not be involved, and now it’s coming back to hurt her. Kim was first upset that producers picked Naturi Naughton of 3LW to play her, now she says the script sensationalizes her relationship with Biggie. “I’ve had enough and I’m about to expose them both… I’ve been quiet for a long time,” Lil Kim said in a recent interview with Hip Hop Weekly. “I’m very disappointed in Faith… There’s nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin’ B.I.G. all day. I’m gonna always do that… It’s time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed.”

Kanye West officially went platinum this week after only seven weeks his “808s & Heartbreak” album racked in a total of 1,023,900 copies sold. TIP moved another 78,000 copies to push his 13 week total to over 1.5 million sold while Ludacris sold another 58,300 units putting him at 439,200 total after five weeks. Weezy continues to sale copies, landing at number 32 this week with a total of 2.87 million sold so far. On the R&B tip, Beyonce continues to control the sales charts with another 210,918 copies sold, putting her total to almost 1.5 million while Keyshia Cole saw “A Different Me” sale another 126,506 units sold putting her to almost gold status. Not to be left out, Jamie Foxx’s “Intuition” moved another 104,506 copies. Lets not forget about Mr. Boy. Soulja Boy sold another whopping 34,370 copies pushing his two week total to just under 80,000 copies, officially going recylced paper.

Keyshia Cole’s family weekly reality show takes Ghetto to brand-new heights on BET! Neffe (Keyshia’s Sister) is a poor example on how to be a mother! Neffe had four kids with two different baby fathers and named her last child after her sister’s adopted parents last names! (What about your last name instead of blessing that child with this Ghetto Jaylin WeLove Cole bullshit! SMH) She looks dirty 95 percent of the time and during last night’s Season Finale of Keyshia’s Cole “The Way It Is” Reality Show she felt the need to try and clean up which ended up failing miserably. Now she is engaged to an unemployed nigro who is a struggling rapper trying to get ahead. Did I mention Neffe just meet him less then a year ago after she had her 4th child? Now she has matching tattoos with her new fiancee. I have not even begun to talk about Keyshia other sister who is a freeloading honey wing eating, booty shakin hefter who is a unfit mother as well! I pray that they do not renew this stuff for a another season but for some reason black people cooning until no tomorrow is entertaining for BET.

Larry Fitzgerald — the star wide receiver for the playoff bound Arizona Cardinals — has been ordered to stay away from his baby mama and his 11-month-old son after he allegedly knocked her around a room and pulled her hair out. Angela Nazario claims she brought the couple’s son to visit Larry at his Phoenix home last October when the former lovers began arguing. Nazario alleges in her legal papers filed in Arizona, Fitzgerald attempted to “diffuse the situation” by raising his fist and challenging her to a play fight. Nazario admits she responded by swinging at him and “may have hit his face.” Fitzgerald then turned from playful to enraged, allegedly pushing Nazario down to her knees. She claims he “grabbed me by my hair with both hands on the back of my head very very hard and tossed me across the room.” Later, when she tried to leave with her son, Nazario says Fitzgerald “grabbed the back of my neck and slammed me down on the marble floor … [I] was disoriented for awhile and could not get up, I remember he mumbled something about ‘that’s what happens when you try taking my son away from me.’” As she got in the car to leave she realized she had lost “chunks” of hair.

In an attempt to stay relevant, Soulja Boy recently released a video where he says Nas killed hip hop. “Real talk, the n*gga that killed hip-hop was Nas,” Soulja Boy says in the video . “He came out publicly and said, ‘Hip-Hop is dead,’ and then after that everybody started saying hip-hop is dead. ‘Cause think about it, if Nas would have never said hip-hop is dead, then motherf*ckers would have never thought anything about it.” Soulja Boy went on to dig himself a bigger hole saying “He probably wasn’t feeling how the music was going. He came out and killed everybody’s money. He killed his own career with that sh*t. Kanye West won’t join Lil Wayne, T.I. and Ludacris as artists who are performing on New Years Eve. Instead Kanye says he is going to spend it alone. “If there’s any parties on New Years with my name on it, doooon’t youuuu belieeeeeve it,” Kanye wrote in his blog. “I’m staying at home for the first time in five years.” Kanye West recently finished up his world tour and seems to be worn out. “We did 98 shows this past year,” he added. “I just want to chill, hoop and watch some movies!”
