Rapper will.i.am has been accused of ripping off a dance track by house producers Mat Zo and Arty for his new song Let’s Go.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman’s song, which features Chris Brown, made its debut online on Tuesday – and it’s already causing a stir after Arty claimed the song steals from the track Rebound.

In a Twitter.com post on Tuesday, Arty wrote, “They never cleared rights through (trance label) Anjunabeats… who ownes (sic) the rights for Rebound.”

The controversy prompted Brown to attempt to distance himself from the allegations, tweeting, “I don’t even know who mat zo Or arty is? I ain’t got s**t to do wit if ur mad or not (sic). Someone asked for a feature on a record and I did it.”

However, the R&B singer’s comments have sparked a backlash from house music fans and Mat Zo had to take to his Facebook.com to urge devotees not to hurl racial abuse at the Kiss Kiss hitmaker or his collaborator will.i.am.

Zo writes, “I really and truely (sic) appreciate all the support you are giving me and Arty in response to Will I Am’s (sic) copyright infringement. However, this doesnt (sic) excuse the horrific abuse youre (sic) sending the way of Will I Am and Chris Brown, and it especially doesnt (sic) excuse being racist. Thank you”.

will.i.am has yet to break his silence on the striking similarities between the two songs
